🚌 09:30 – Pick-up & Kirkenes Sightseeing Tour with Local Guide
Begin your journey with pick-up at the Hurtigruten/Havila pier or from your hotel in Kirkenes.
Your guide will lead you on a 2-hour sightseeing tour exploring the town, surrounding nature, and border region. Learn about:
- Local life and history in Kirkenes
- Relationships with neighboring Finland and Russia
- Arctic climate and wartime history
- Visit two viewpoints, including Storfjell, with panoramic views over the fjord
- See the former mining town of Bjørnevatn and the Russian border
- Stops for photography and questions
The tour is conducted in a comfortable Mercedes minivan (max 8 guests) for a relaxed and personal experience.
❄️ 11:30 – Snowhotel Kirkenes Visit (Self-Guided)
You’ll be dropped off at the world-famous Snowhotel, where you can explore at your own pace:
- Visit ice suites and snow rooms, marvel at the artistic ice sculptures
- Meet the friendly Alaskan huskies in the dog yard 🐾
- Enjoy time in the summer café for coffee, tea, or lunch (food not included)
Note: This part of the tour is self-guided, giving you freedom to explore.
🔥 13:30 – Sami Experience in Lavvu Tent
Meet Sami artist John Henrik Mienna for an immersive cultural journey.
- Feed and interact with reindeer 🦌 using traditional lichen treats
- Learn about Sami traditions, reindeer herding, and Arctic survival
- Step inside the traditional Lavvu tent, sit around the fire, and hear Sami folklore and personal stories

🚐 15:00 – Return Transfer
After the experience, we’ll drive you back to your hotel in Kirkenes (Scandic or Thon) or directly to the Kirkenes Airport for your onward journey. All luggage will be safely transported with you.
