Tour Overview

Step back in time on this unique hiking tour through the Pasvik Valley, where Arctic wilderness meets local history. You’ll walk through quiet taiga forest to the historic Namdalen farmhouse, a reminder of the early settlers who once lived in this remote region.

We begin in Kirkenes and drive 25 minutes south into the valley. Along the way, we pass the Bjørnevatn iron ore mine and make a short stop at a viewpoint above Langfjorden, with views of the striking rock formation Storfjellet.

At the trailhead, we begin an easy 3 km hike through peaceful forest terrain. Your guide will share stories about local history, nature, and life in the north. After about an hour, we reach the abandoned farm of Namdalen, a special place with a rich past. We’ll take a break, enjoy the atmosphere, and then return the same way.

This is a quiet, personal tour designed for small groups. The route is not rushed – we walk at your pace and take time to enjoy the surroundings.
