🧭 Tour Overview

Step into the past and explore the present on this unique winter sightseeing tour in Northern Norway’s easternmost town, Kirkenes. From WWII bomb shelters to panoramic viewpoints and the actual border with Russia, this guided experience offers a rich mix of history, culture, and Arctic landscapes.

🎥 Start Underground: Andersgrotta Bomb Shelter

We begin at Andersgrotta, the underground shelter used by locals during hundreds of German bombing raids in WWII. You’ll take a 30-minute guided tour through the tunnels followed by a short 10-minute film about Kirkenes during the war.

🚐 Explore Kirkenes and Surroundings

Next, you’ll board a comfortable, heated minivan for a scenic drive through Kirkenes and beyond. Stops include two beautiful viewpoints, a historic mining site, and more — all perfect for photos and stories.

🌍 Visit the Norwegian–Russian Border

One of Kirkenes’s most unique features is its proximity to Russia. On this tour, you’ll visit the actual border zone, learn about Norway-Russia relations, and enjoy views of where two countries meet in the Arctic.
